Description:
Common time fitacf data obtained by SuperDARN Hokkaido East HF radar. The data set consists primarily of the backscatter power, spectral width, and Doppler velocity derived with radar echoes in the field-of-view of the radar beams with time resolutions of 1-2 min. Data files are distributed in the Common Data Format (CDF) through the ERG-SC repository

Acknowledgement: Data distributed with this CDF file can be used freely for scientific research. Please note that the data are not fully calibrated and may still contain glitches and errors which could yield scientifically wrong or misleading results. We strongly recommend working directly or checking with the PI (Nozomu Nishitani, ISEE, Nagoya Univ., E-mail: nisitani [at] isee.nagoya-u.ac.jp) and/or researchers of the other SuperDARN PI groups regarding data accuracy and interpretation. Data users must contact the PI before any form of presentation/publication including any fraction or the entire part of data. Please acknowledge the research grant which enables the construction and operation of the SuperDARN Hokkaido East HF radar. An example of the acknowledgement statement is as follows: This research was partially supported by Special Funds for Education and Research (Energy Transport Processes in Geospace, Institute for Space-Earth Environmental Research (ISEE), Nagoya University) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology of Japan.

Name: SuperDARN Hokkaido East HF radar
Description: HF coherent radar at Rikubetsu, Hokkaido, Japan. A radar of Super Dual Auroral Radar Network (SuperDARN) operated by Institute for Space-Earth Environmental Research (ISEE), Nagoya University. In common mode, SuperDARN observes ionospheric plasma convection of the high- and mid-latitude regions with time resolution of 1-2 min. SuperDARN is used not only for the ionospheric research but also for the thermospheric and mesospheric research.
